Greek unemployment rate was recorded at 12,5% in April

According to data published by ELSTAT, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in April 2022 amounted to 12.5% compared to 17.2% in April 2021 and to the upwards revised 12.6% in March 2022.

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,123,634 persons increasing by 403,552 persons as compared with April 2021 (+10.8%) and decreasing by 41,072 persons compared with March 2022 (-1.0%).

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 587,595 decreasing by 182,482 persons as compared with April 2021 (-23.7%) and by 11,707 persons compared with March 2022 (-2.0%). 

The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,125,509, decreasing by 256,988 persons as compared with April 2021 (-7.6%) and increased by 51,662 persons compared with March 2022 (+1.7%).
