The Hellenic Public Properties Company S.A. (HPPC), a subsidiary of the Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations (HCAP), has signed the concession agreement for a coastal area in Nea Alikarnassos (Lampi), on the island of Kos, with the local Municipality.

The coastal area of 76,379.00 sq.m. is being granted for use with a minimum guaranteed annual rent of €100,000, with the purpose of its development through low-impact activities of social, cultural, and athletic character.

The development will be funded by the Municipality for a period of twenty-five (25) years, with the possibility of a five-year extension.

According to the study by the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE), the proposed interventions are of a mild, sustainable nature, prioritizing low environmental impact and social benefit. Indicative projects include:

  • Creation of green walking and cycling routes
  • Construction of outdoor sports and seating areas
  • Planting of native species and enhancement of the natural landscape
  • Use of energy-efficient lighting solutions

Lampi Beach, located just 3 km from the town of Kos, is one of the island's most popular seaside destinations. The area serves as an open, public space for recreation, culture, and sports, and is fully accessible to both residents and visitors.
