The Hyatt subsidiary has entered into a franchise agreement with Thera Island Suites S.A., owner company of Magma Resort Santorini, managed by Athens-based SWOT Hospitality, to open the first Hyatt-branded resort in the Greek islands.

Magma Resort Santorini is scheduled to open its doors on August 10, 2022, as part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and features 59 rooms, including 24 suites. The signing of the agreement underlines Hyatt's strategic focus to strengthen its resort footprint and Independent Collection brands in major European leisure destinations.

True to the ethos of The Outbound Collection by Hyatt, Magma Resort Santorini will offer unique, contemporary luxury and personalized experiences to its guests. In complete harmony with traditional old vineyards, the resort is located on the lava-sculpted slopes of Vourvoulos village.

The architectural design by the offices of PEOPLE and ELASTIC ARCHITECTS harmoniously combines the natural shapes created by the black volcanic stones together with the off-white austere geometric prisms reminiscent of the ubiquitous volcanic ash of Santorini.

All rooms and suites offer free view in the Aegean Sea, 46 of which have private pools and hot tubs. The resort features a state-of-the-art wellness center and cavernous spa, as well as a spacious function room that can accommodate up to 250 people.
