As announced by the company, the renovation of the Poulopoulos Bridge was carried out following an initiative by the "Alongside Women" Clinic Friends Association, as part of PRODEA Investments' Corporate Responsibility Program, "Structures of Responsibility".
The inauguration ceremony took place with the presence of the Minister of Health and key representatives from the academic and medical fields.
During his opening speech, Health Minister Mr. Adonis Georgiadis highlighted that private donations to the public health system demonstrate the strength of our society, emphasizing that even the most developed healthcare systems worldwide benefit from private sector support. He expressed gratitude to PRODEA for its contribution, as well as to the Association and its President, Mrs. Kalaitzi, for their efforts in renovating the “Eleni” wing. He underlined that supporting university hospitals is a long-term investment in the future of healthcare.
The event was also attended by distinguished speakers, including the Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Professor Gerasimos Siasos, the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, Professor Pagona Lagios, the President of the Medical School, Professor Nikolaos Arkadopoulos, the President of Aretaeio Hospital, Professor Konstantinos Tsiofis, and the Director of the B’ Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic, Professor Nikolaos Vlahos. They all thanked PRODEA Investments for its sponsorship and the Friends Association for their initiative, which exemplifies the importance of public-private partnerships and civil society in advancing public health. They noted that the renovation of the gynecological clinic marks another significant step in the improvement of Aretaeio University Hospital’s infrastructure.
The President of the Friends Association of the Aretaeio University Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic “Alongside Women,” Dr. Popi Kalaitzi, expressed her gratitude to PRODEA Investments for their quick and generous support. She stated, “We are thrilled that, starting today, the women who are hospitalized in the gynecological clinic will benefit from newly renovated facilities, which, along with the exceptional doctors and nurses at the university hospital, will provide top-tier healthcare services. In the coming months, we will complement this initiative with an innovative patient support program using VR technology.”

Following the speeches, attendees were given a tour of the renovated “Eleni” wing, where they had the opportunity to view the upgraded facilities firsthand.
