Industrial output up 2.6% in November

The mining of metal ores recorded the largest percentage decline.

Industrial production in the country recorded a mild slowdown in November 2025, according to the latest available data from the General Index of Industrial Production.

Specifically, according to ELSTAT data, the General Index of Industrial Production for November 2025 recorded an increase of 2.6% compared with the corresponding index of November 2024, compared with a 3.3% increase in the same year-on-year comparison of 2024 versus 2023.

The average General Index of Industrial Production for the period January–November 2025, compared with the corresponding index for January–November 2024, showed an increase of 1.4%, while the seasonally adjusted General Index of Industrial Production for November 2025, compared with October 2025, recorded a decrease of 1.6%.

By sector, the mining of metal ores recorded the largest percentage decline, while the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers showed the largest percentage increase in November 2025 compared with October 2025.

In the year-on-year comparison of November 2025 with November 2024, the largest percentage increase was observed in the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, while the largest percentage decline was recorded in the sectors of coal and lignite mining, crude petroleum and natural gas extraction, and support activities for mining.
