The participation in the tender process was large, as the list of candidate economic entities includes important companies in the construction sector of Greece.
Specifically, financial bids for this project were submitted by five companies: AVAX SA, TERNA SA, ACTOR SA, UNION OF FINANCIAL AGENCIES "DOMIKI KRITIS SA - EXTER S.A. - ERETVO S.A. and MYTILINEOS A.T.E.
According to the participant table, the operators offered the following discount rates:
- TERNA ANONYMOUS TOURIST TECHNICAL AND SHIPPING COMPANY (27.63%)
- AKTOR ANONYMOUS TECHNICAL COMPANY (17.80%)
- MYTILINEOS TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTIONS ATE (17.14%)
- UNION OF ECONOMIC AGENCIES "DOMIKI KRITIS S.A. - EXTER S.A. - ERETVO S.A. (7.21%)
- AVAX SA (5 %)
The project with secured funding from the "Connecting Europe (CEF) 2021-2027 Mechanism" concerns works for the construction of the infrastructure, superstructure and stations/stops for a new single railway line in the N. Karvali - Toxotes section (Xanthi region) , approximately 32 km long, as well as the branch from N. Karvalis to the new cargo port of Kavala, approximately 5.3 km long.
With this project, the connection of the new cargo port of Kavala with the existing railway network of Northern Greece is achieved, while at the same time the interconnection with the railway network of the neighboring countries is progressing.
