Mitsis Group, the largest hotel group in Greece, has announced its 2024 Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Report, presenting its extensive sustainability program under the title “A Story of Change.”

According to the program, it encompasses over 150 initiatives annually, aiming to establish a model of sustainable tourism development and to strengthen sustainability in the destinations where the Group operates.

The program’s strategic framework is structured around five thematic pillars, reflecting the Group’s commitment to responsible practices and ongoing social contribution:

• Building Bonds with Local Communities
Supporting local communities is a central priority, achieved through the creation of over 5,000 jobs, the enhancement of the primary sector, the adoption of public spaces, and consistent engagement with local organizations and events.

• Promoting Cultural Heritage
The Group actively supports Greek culture by backing local arts, participating in cultural festivals, and highlighting traditional gastronomy.

• Embracing Diversity
Employee well-being and the integration of equality, inclusion, and diversity (DEI) practices are at the heart of the corporate culture.

• Harnessing New Opportunities
The Group invests in technology, professional development, and the cultivation of new talent, incorporating innovations that enhance service quality.

• Caring for the Planet
Through initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact, protecting biodiversity, and fostering green partnerships, the Group implements a long-term strategy for a more sustainable environment.

The Group’s CEO, Stavros Mitsis, emphasized that sustainability is an integral part of the corporate identity:
"Our commitment to sustainability is not merely a strategic choice but a core element of who we are. Our goal is to create a positive impact in the destinations where we operate, strengthening social cohesion while safeguarding our natural and cultural heritage."

The Group’s long-standing efforts have been recognized with numerous awards for its hotels, including Bike Friendly, Blue Flag, Green Key, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, and Travelife Gold Certification. Additionally, the QualityNet Foundation has ranked the Group among the “Most Sustainable Companies in Greece,” while last year’s Sustainability Report received recognition at the Bravo Sustainability Dialogue & Awards 2025 in the category of Sustainability Reporting.
