The project is part of the national investment program for the upgrade of Greece’s research infrastructure and has an estimated budget of €6,606,000 (excluding VAT at 24%).
Funding is provided by the Public Investment Program of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation. The project owner, contracting authority, and implementing body is the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" (NCSR Demokritos).
The tender will be conducted through the National Electronic Public Procurement System (ESIDIS), with the award criterion being the most economically advantageous offer based on price.
The new three-storey building will be constructed within the Demokritos campus in Agia Paraskevi and will house the Institute of Nanoscience and Microsystems, serving its operational needs with relative functional autonomy.
The building will primarily consist of laboratory facilities, with four laboratories per floor. The third floor will accommodate the research groups' office spaces and will not include laboratory areas.
