The investment involves the construction of a 5-star hotel complex with 140 rooms, along with the development of 30 fully furnished tourist residences on a coastal plot of approximately 158 hectares, located in the "Skouros" area in Kastrí, within the Municipality of Viannos, in the Heraklion Prefecture of Southern Crete.
The complex will also feature additional dining facilities, a wellness and fitness spa, and landscaped areas for the cultivation of organic products.
The objective of the investment plan, according to the company set to invest approximately €120 million, is “to create a high-quality, integrated tourist resort, harmonized with the natural and man-made characteristics of the investment area, and fully compliant with international standards for Green Hotels.”
The area is one of the most distinctive in Southern Crete, characterized by its rugged natural landscape, southern exposure, and panoramic views of the Libyan Sea.
It is located 38 km from the new airport at Kastelli, which is expected to open in 2027.
Myrina Village, by designating the project as a “Strategic Investment-1,” aims to benefit from the incentives provided under Article 7 (E.S.CH.A.S.E., with land use designation “Tourism-Recreation”) and Article 9 for fast-tracked licensing, as well as the implementation of Article 5 (Concession of beach and shoreline use) and Article 6 (Auxiliary and supporting infrastructure works, both temporary and permanent—such as connections to electrical, telecommunications, natural gas, water, and sewage networks, as well as access to the national and regional road systems and the main road network of the region).
