Passenger traffic soared by 12.4% in January 2025

In the first month of 2025, a total of 24,200 flights were recorded, compared to 22,874 flights in January 2024.

Passenger traffic for the first month of 2025 across all airports in the country saw an increase of 12.4%, according to data from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Specifically, passenger traffic in January 2025 reached 2,712,144, compared to 2,413,403 passengers in the same period of 2024.

Regarding aircraft movements (arrivals and departures of domestic and international flights) for January 2025, across the 39 airports in the country, primarily under the control of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), there was a 5.8% increase compared to 2024.

In particular, a total of 24,200 flights were recorded in the first month of 2025, compared to 22,874 flights in January 2024. Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the CAA saw a 12.6% increase in January 2025.

The passenger traffic at the 24 CAA-managed airports (Heraklion, Kalamata, Alexandroupolis, Limnos, Astypalaia, Ioannina, Chios, Kozani, Kastoria, Karapathos, Kythera, Milos, Skyros, Nea Anchialos, Paros, Syros, Araxos, Naxos, Kalymnos, Ikaria, Kastelorizo, Kasos, Leros, Sitia) showed a 12.6% increase in January 2025, compared to January 2024.

According to the statistics from the Civil Aviation Authority, the total number of passengers (both arrivals and departures for domestic and international flights) in January 2025 amounted to 219,777, compared to 195,251 passengers in January 2024.
