The new solution, based on Commvault Cloud Cyber Resiliency and Commvault HyperScale technologies, enables DEDDIE (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) to achieve rapid recovery of critical data, significantly reducing recovery time and increasing recovery speed in the event of cyberattacks or natural disasters.
The project was designed and implemented in an environment with heightened compliance, security, and availability requirements, and included:
-
Implementation of a unified backup platform for workloads across datacenters, cloud, and SaaS applications
-
Integration of AI/ML technologies for anomaly detection, threat identification, and ransomware attack prevention
-
Design and operation of a 3-2-1 policy with air-gapped backups
-
Automation of disaster recovery, 24x7x365 monitoring, and SLA-based restore plans
The solution was delivered fully operational by Performance, in full compliance with European regulatory requirements DORA, NIS2, and GDPR, enhancing DEDDIE’s cyber resilience framework and data protection strategy.
“The successful completion of this project confirms our commitment to delivering innovative and 100% manageable services, with emphasis on security, availability, and scalability,” said Dimitris Kyriakidis, Technology Services Director at Performance Technologies. “We have demonstrated that Backup can truly operate as a service, fully integrated into an organization’s operational ecosystem.”
This project sets a benchmark for the energy sector, proving that DEDDIE’s strategic partnership with a highly specialized technology provider leads to tangible, measurable results, contributing to data safeguarding and accelerating the organization’s digital transformation.
