The new wind farm, which has entered the construction phase by PPC Renewables, consists of 23 GE Vernova type wind turbines, each with a nominal power of 6.1 MW and is expected to be completed at the end of 2025.
Given the rich wind potential of eastern Romania, the estimated annual output of the park is estimated to reach 370 GWh, capable of meeting the needs of approximately 62,000 households. With its operation, the new station is expected to prevent CO2 emissions of the order of 215,000 tons annually.
PPC Renewables already manages in Romania a portfolio of existing projects with a total capacity of over 700 MW. With the completion of the new project, the total installed capacity of PPC Renewables in the country will reach approximately 850 MW. PPC Group actively participates in the energy transformation of Romania, contributing to the increase of the installed capacity of RES projects. By the end of 2026, PPC Group's RES in the country will exceed 2 GW, through the implementation of an important investment program, making PPC Group the leader in the Romanian RES market.
PPC Group is an energy leader in Southeast Europe. Already, it has created an existing portfolio of RES projects with a total installed capacity of 4.7 GW in Greece and Romania, while it has a total RES development portfolio of 20 GW by 2030.
PPC Renewables is a 100% subsidiary company of PPC and invests in the power of nature, through the production of energy from RES and energy storage. In addition to the large photovoltaic and wind projects it builds, the company innovates in the SE European market through projects that cover the entire range of renewable energy sources (wind, sun, water, geothermal and biomass).
