According to the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office of the Greek Embassy in Tirana, the guaranteed amount of energy will be used to cover the needs of consumers during September. In total, during the current year approximately 313,000 MWh have been purchased with an average price of almost €104/MWh.
2023 is considered a relatively favorable year for the company, as the climatic conditions helped to increase the production of electricity from hydroelectric plants until June, allowing to cover the needs of consumers domestically as well as energy exports.
In particular, during the period January-June 2023, the Albanian Electricity Company managed to generate income from electricity sales, despite the fact that the sale price remained lower than international markets. In the first half of 2023, the company collected approximately €41.5 million, with the energy purchase price significantly lower than a year ago, as international markets move towards stabilization and approach pre-crisis levels flat.
Albanian Power Corporation continues to trade power through its online platform rather than the Albanian Power Exchange, which has been operating for several months.
