As outlined in its official announcement, the EPPA (Association of Real Estate Brokers and Certified Experts of Greece) is committed to enhancing transparency and ensuring security in real estate transactions.
The meeting was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Stylianos Sakaretsios, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Land Registry, Mr. Yiannis Hatzitheodosiou, President of the Hellenic Confederation of Real Estate Agents (EEA), and members of the EPPA Working Group: Mr. Thodoris Kokosiolis (President), Mr. Ioannis Ziavras, and Mr. Nikos Manomenidis, Head of Studies and Research.
During the discussions, all participants concurred on the vital need for Real Estate Agents to be able to verify the ownership details of the properties they are brokering. Access to the Land Registry, with appropriate classification and safeguards, was identified as a fundamental measure to enhance transparency and mitigate risks of fraud and uncertainty in property transactions.
This agreement represents an initial step towards achieving this goal. The National Land Registry, in collaboration with the EPPA Working Group, is now in the process of planning the implementation framework and outlining the necessary procedures to ensure secure and reliable access. This continued cooperation will focus on developing an operational framework that enables real estate professionals to provide high standards of service to their clients.
This initiative is part of EPPA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the resources available to real estate market professionals, thereby improving security, reliability, and trust in real estate transactions.
