The Hellenic Cadastre has recorded a significant surge in productivity nationwide.

According to an official announcement, the number of cases resolved each month has increased significantly—from approximately 14,000 in September 2023 to more than 50,000 currently—demonstrating a sustained upward trajectory.

For the first time, a consistently positive balance has been recorded between incoming and resolved requests. Whereas in the past, up to 20,000 new backlogged cases were generated monthly, the system now processes thousands more cases than it receives, leading to a steady reduction in the overall backlog.

More specifically, during the week of May 12–18, a record-breaking 15,744 cases were completed, surpassing the previous high of 12,959 cases reached only a few weeks earlier—marking the highest level of productivity in the history of the Cadastre's operation.

At the Athens Cadastre Office, the largest in the country, the impact is particularly notable. From a backlog of 56,000 cases and an average processing time of 18 months, the office has now reduced its average case resolution time to just seven working days, with pending cases having been virtually eliminated.

This progress has been made possible through enhancements to digital infrastructure, systematic daily monitoring of operational output, and the efficient deployment of human resources—all of whom are fully engaged in this extensive reform effort.

The consistent increase in productivity affirms the achievability of the primary objective: the clearance of 350,000 outstanding cases carried over from the now-defunct mortgage offices by the end of 2025.

Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Christos Boukoros, stated:
"The Hellenic Cadastre is steadily transforming into a modern, reliable, and efficient public institution. The ongoing rise in productivity—driven by digital transformation and the daily commitment of our workforce—demonstrates that we are entering a new era. Our objective is the complete elimination of the backlog, and I am confident we will succeed. With strategic planning, persistence, transparency, and strong political will, we are building a Cadastre that truly serves all citizens."
