The Regional Governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos, signed the inclusion decision for the project: “Energy Upgrade of the Doridos Police Department Building of the Fokida Police Directorate” in the “STEREA GREECE 2021-2027” Program, under the priority area: “Ensuring Environmental Sustainability, Adapting to Climate Change, and Risk Prevention and Management.”

The project's main objective is the energy upgrade and comprehensive renovation of the building housing the Doridos Police Department in Lidoriki, Fokida. The building has a total usable area of 311 square meters and is currently classified in energy category “E.” Upon completion of the works, it is expected to achieve an energy classification of “A+.”

The energy interventions include, in brief:

  • External thermal insulation and energy-efficient façade.

  • Installation of new high-performance aluminum windows and doors.

  • Installation of a heating/cooling system with a heat pump and localized FCU air conditioning units.

  • Installation of local ventilation units with heat recovery.

  • Installation of new high-efficiency lighting fixtures.

Additionally, a photovoltaic panel system will be installed to generate electricity, meeting the building’s energy needs through energy offset (net metering). The project also encompasses all necessary associated construction and mechanical/electrical (M/E) works to ensure the technical integrity of the project.

The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, with the Ministry of Citizen Protection as the beneficiary. The co-financed public expenditure amounts to €217,802.92, fully covering the initial project budget.

Following the signing of the inclusion decision, the Regional Governor of Central Greece, Fanis Spanos, stated: “We have secured the necessary funding from the Regional Operational Program of our region and are moving forward with a significant intervention that brings multiple benefits. The complete renovation of the Doridos Police Department will improve the working conditions for those serving there and safeguarding our community. At the same time, we are reducing the building’s energy consumption, thereby lowering its operating costs for lighting, heating, and cooling.”
