Seasonally adjusted unemployment rate up in February 2024

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in February 2024 amounted to 11.0% compared to the downwards revised 11.2% in February 2023 and to the upwards revised 10.6% in January 2024.

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced the seasonally adjusted estimates of employment and unemployment for February 2024.

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,228,417 persons, increased by 76,736 persons as compared with February 2023 (1.8%) and decreased by 38,712 persons compared with January 2024 (-0.9%).

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 524,428, decreased by 283 persons as compared with February 2023 (-0.1%) and increased by 18,733 persons compared with January 2024 (3.7%).

The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,034,624, decreased by 97,400 persons as compared with February 2023 (-3.1%) and increased by 17,617 persons compared with January 2024 (0.6%).
