From February 18 to 21, 2025, OLTH S.A. underwent an inspection conducted by a team from the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission (DG MOVE) to assess the implementation of security measures and procedures at the Port of Thessaloniki, in compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code).

A nine-member team, consisting of highly trained European inspectors specializing in port facility and harbor security, conducted a thorough inspection of the equipment, security measures, and procedures at the Port Facility and surrounding area of the Thessaloniki Commercial Port, in the presence of the Director and staff from the responsible Directorate for Ship & Port Facility Security Management (DEDAPLE) of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy.

The results of the inspection were presented by the head of the team as quite satisfactory, showing that Thessaloniki Port Authority (OLTH S.A.) applies best practices at the European level. The inspection revealed that the port has been highly compliant with security requirements, supported by well-trained security personnel and complemented by the high-level central administrative support from the responsible Directorate (DEDAPLE) of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy.

"The results of the security inspection confirm OLTH S.A.'s ongoing and practical efforts to operate the Port of Thessaloniki according to international standards, providing high-quality port services with high levels of safety and security," commented Dr. Ioannis Tsaras, CEO of OLTH S.A.
