The project, with a contractual value of €9.5 million (including VAT), involves the study and implementation of the restoration of the operational depths (dredging) of the Volos Port basin, by removing the silt that has accumulated following the extreme weather events "Daniel" and "Elias" in September 2023.
The Strategic Importance Contracts Unit (PPF) of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) prepared and conducted the tender process for this project on behalf of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy. The contracting and supervising authority was designated as the Ports Infrastructure Directorate of the General Secretariat for Ports and Maritime Affairs of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, with the Special Public Works Service (EΥDE) of Thessaly, under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, being the managing agency.
The project is financed by the Sectoral Development Program of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, after being included in the Public Investment Program by a decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis.
