According to the Minister of Development and Investments Adonis Georgiadis, "the energy crisis has already put the European economies under a lot of pressure, and there may be, as he said, the usual grumbling and recriminations here, but the truth is that the subsidy to current provided by the Greek government is the largest in the entire European Union".
As he says in a related announcement, "electricity today is 11 times more expensive than it was last year. That is, as much as you paid an electricity bill last year, you will multiply it by 11 to be at the prices they are this year. The fact that we give the subsidy is very beneficial, because we save households as well as small and medium-sized businesses, which would have been on their knees if this subsidy did not exist," the minister emphasized.
