As stated in the relevant announcement, the integration of the latest regions into final operational status as of Thursday, 29 January, marks the addition of 327,290 properties and 360,805 rights to the cadastral database, confirming the transition to a modern system for real estate management.
From now on, all transactions—from data searches to the electronic submission of deeds and the issuance of documents—are conducted digitally, ensuring speed, transparency, and security, leaving behind the delays and uncertainties of the past.
Deputy Minister of Digital Governance, Christos Dermentzopoulos, remarked:
"The completion of the Cadastre in these three Regional Units is a promise fulfilled. Our goal is to protect property rights and simplify citizens’ daily lives with streamlined procedures that leave bureaucracy behind. This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication of our staff and the professionalism of all Cadastre collaborators, who consistently work to implement this major national reform."
What Citizens and Professionals Need to Know
Going forward, all transactions with the Cadastre are exclusively digital:
- Submission of notarial deeds (except in special cases) digitally only.
- Digital management of legal instruments by lawyers (e.g., registration of pre-notices, removal of encumbrances).
- Electronic submission of court documents via judicial officers.
- Electronic submission of deeds by public authorities (e.g., Independent Authority for Public Revenue).
- Applications for corrections and obvious errors digitally only.
- Property searches exclusively online.
- Issuance of certificates and copies 24/7 digitally.
- Electronic protocol—no physical submission of documents.
- Removal of official stamps from applications and certificates.
- Exclusive electronic payments (e-banking & POS).
- On-site research hours: 08:30–13:30 (uniform nationwide).
Full digitization enhances service levels for citizens and professionals, providing speed and transparency at every stage. Processes are simplified, increasing the reliability of the system.
