The second section of the E65 motorway, linking Kalampaka to Grevena, is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026, according to Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas, who conducted an on-site inspection of the project.

Mr. Dimas stated that all issues that could have delayed the project's delivery have now been resolved, including the relocation of certain ultra-high voltage pylons and the completion of archaeological excavations.

He noted that the archaeological excavation in the area of Agiofyllo was recently completed, allowing the construction company to carry out works at that location. At the same time, in coordination with ADMIE and DEDDIE, all technical details related to the relocation of the pylons in the Anthrakia area have been finalized.

According to information provided by the construction company, a total of 850 workers are currently employed at this specific construction site. Welcoming the government delegation on site was Mr. Michalis Gourlis, Executive Member of GEK TERNA S.A.

From his side, the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia, Giorgos Amanatidis, requested that a new exit be constructed at the E65 junction connecting to the Egnatia Odos near Grevena. This proposed exit would lead toward the Grevena Ski Resort and tourist areas in the Pindus region—a proposal that was also supported by seven presidents of local municipal communities during a follow-up meeting with the government delegation, highlighting its importance for the viability of their settlements.

Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Insurance, Anna Efthymiou, emphasized the development momentum that the completion of the E65 is expected to bring to the wider region of Grevena.
