Restoration works of the A2 building at the former Pavlos Mela Camp, which will house the Museum of National Resistance and services of the Municipality of the area, have just been launched.

It is been reminded that within the Metropolitan Park will be established three museums.

The Museum of National Resistance, the Metro Museum in the A3 building - a barracks building with an area of 3,500 sq.m., designated a monument by the Ministry of the Interior - and the Museum of Greek Refugees in two adjacent buildings, with an area of more than 1,500 sq.m.

The studies for the restoration of the A3 building, as well as the museological and museographic studies, have been completed and been licensed.

The project shall be auctioned soon from the Service of Newer Monuments and Technical Projects of Central Macedonia of the Ministry of Culture, while the creation of the exhibition of the Metro findings is the responsibility of the Ephorate of Antiquities of the City of Thessaloniki.

The overall project of the restoration of the building, the archaeological exhibition and the configuration of its surroundings, has been included in the Recovery Fund with a budget of €12,500,000.

The studies for the Museum of Refugee Hellenism are in progress through a Programmatic Agreement for Cultural Development between the Ministry of Cultural Development, the Region of Central Macedonia, the Metropolitan Development Municipality of Thessaloniki and the MOD, and will be completed at the end of 2023, when the construction of the Museum will be included in a financial program .
