The primary surplus approached €4 billion in the first four months of the year

The primary surplus of the State Budget on a cash basis approached €4 billion in the period from January to April, according to data from the Bank of Greece.

From January to April 2025, the central government’s cash balance recorded a surplus of €1.874 billion, a significant improvement compared to a deficit of €570 million during the same period in 2024.

During this period, regular budget revenues reached €22.232 billion, up from €20.612 billion in 2024.

On the expenditure side, regular budget spending amounted to €19.796 billion, slightly higher than the €19.521 billion recorded in the first four months of 2024.
