As he mentioned, the final approval of the financing is expected as the relevant file has been submitted, following relevant approval by the Municipal Committee (208/2024 WTO), pointing out that from February 2022, when the pre-accession decision existed, the relevant invitation from the Ministry of the Environment and Energy, came out only on February 27, 2024
An additional €4 million was secured for decontamination as the originally approved amount was not sufficient. It is known that the stadium site was excavated in 2009 but has since been filled with indiscriminate deposits of rubble and rubbish.
The necessary funds of €6,863,881.99 were secured from the National Development Program - Special Program of the Municipality of Athens as earthworks are required to remove all kinds of materials at the Panathinaikos football stadium under construction. After consultation with the Ministry of Finance and following the invitation entitled "INVITATION FOR SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS FOR NEW PROJECTS TO THE SPECIAL PROGRAM OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ATHENS", the relevant Ministerial Decision is expected in order to sign the Contract with the Consortium Contractor.
Regarding the Building Permit, on February 9, 2024, the Survey was finalized and uploaded to the electronic platform e-Permits.
The problems regarding the approval of the Coverage Chart are gradually being resolved, in cooperation with DAOKA. One of the issues was that of determining the exact number of parking spaces. Since October 2023, the issue had been raised. Finally, it was resolved by an amendment which was voted on 29 February 2024 and which defines as parking spaces the maximum number envisaged in the Strategic Environmental Impact Study, i.e. 450 parking spaces, 325 under the new Stadium and 125 under its facilities Amateur.
The problem of the demolition of the buildings that exist within the plot and have become the property of the Municipality of Athens is resolved and their Demolition Permit must be issued, before the Permit of the new Stadium is issued.
The two important Contracts that must be concluded and concern the two Technical Consultants are moving forward: For the new Stadium and the facilities of the Amateur, the Auction was held and the relevant process is progressing. For Green, Common Spaces, Road Construction, Sewerage and the Cycle Path, the process is in the final stage of preparation of the Declaration.
A comprehensive monitoring list of the progress of the expropriations has been created and the reconciliation process with the owners is progressing.
Finally, an 8-member project team has been set up, headed by the Mayor, in which the Secretary General of the Municipality of Athens, the Deputy Mayor of Infrastructure, Heads of the relevant Departments, the Lawyer of the Legal Service of the Municipality of Athens and a specialized Legal Advisor participate.
