The seasonally adjusted Greek unemployment rate at 10.8% in January 2023

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 501,948 decreased by 134,764 persons as compared with January 2022

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in January 2023 amounted to 10.8% compared to 13.7% in January 2022 and to the upwards revised 12.4% in December 2022, according to data released by the ELSTAT.

The number of employed persons amounted to 4,145,529 persons increased by 118,588 persons as compared with January 2022 (+2.9%) and decreased by 26,314 persons compared with December 2022 (-0.6%).

The number of unemployed persons amounted to 501,948 decreased by 134,764 persons as compared with January 2022 (-21.2%) and by 87,686 persons compared with December 2022 (-14.9%).

The number of persons outside the labour force, i.e., persons under the age of 75, that neither work nor look for a job, amounted to 3,165,855, decreasing by 16,493 persons as compared with January 2022 (-0.5%) and increased by 110,145 persons compared with December 2022 (+3.6%).
