The project is financed by the YMEPERAA (Operational Program "Transport Infrastructures, Environment and Sustainable Development) 2014-2020 of the Region of Thessaly and in collaboration with FOSDA N. Larissa.
It includes the construction and equipment of the Unit with a budget of 54,621,226 euros and options for a total cost of 45,673,807 euros related to the execution of additional works and equipment for the conversion of the MEA into a MAA (Recycling Recovery Unit) for its adaptation to the National Management Plan Waste ESDA 2020-2030 and its corresponding function.
Beneficiary – Implementation Body of the project is the Region of Thessaly and Principal and Operating Body is the Unified Solid Waste Management Association of Municipalities and Communities of the Prefecture of Larisa.
This is the third major project being promoted in Thessaly, which completes the regional planning in the field of waste management, after the MEA of Western Thessaly which is in the implementation stage and the MEA of P.E. Magnesia which was auctioned last month.
