According to ELSTAT, the building permits for the Private Building Activity issued in Greece in August 2023 amounted to 1,595. This figure corresponds to 392,123 m2 of surface and 2,080,877 m3 of volume. In comparison with the same month of 2022 there is a 4.3% decrease in the number of building permits, a 7.8% decrease in surface and a 17.4% increase in volume.
The building permits for the Public Building Activity issued in Greece in August 2023 amounted to 22. This figure corresponds to 3,030 m2 of surface and 17,855 m3 of volume. Public Building Activity accounted for a 0.9% of the total building volume in August 2023. In the last twelve months, from September 2022 until August 2023, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece, calculated on the basis of the number of issued building permits, amounted to 26,644. This figure corresponds to5,987,116 m2 of surface and 27,720,534 m3 of volume. In comparison with the corresponding period from September2021 until August 2022, there is a 9.8% increase in the number of building permits, a 7.2% increase in surface and an11.2% increase in volume.
In the same period, from September 2022 untill August 2023, Private Building Activity in Greece recorded a 9.6%increase in the number of issued building permits, a 6.9% increase in surface and a 10.9% increase in volume, compared with the corresponding period from September 2021 to August 2022.
During the same period, Public Building Activity accounted for a 2.4% of the total building volume. During the period January - August 2023, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece recorded a 9.4% increase in the number of issued building permits, a 12.4% increase in surface and a 16.5% increase in volume, compared with the corresponding period of 2022.
