These economic activities have been over time in the focus of interest due to the significant weight they bear on the Greek economy as a whole, but also due to their extensive dispersion, with a significant presence in all regional units and a significant contribution to the respective local economies of Greece, often associated with the tourist product of the country.
For the enterprises in Accommodation Activities, obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in October 2022 amounted to 637,614,417 euro, recording an increase of 30.7% in comparison with October 2021, when the respective turnover was 487,914,972 euro.
For the enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities, obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in October 2022 amounted to 184,507,183 euro, recording an increase of 19.7% in comparison with October 2021, when the respective turnover was 154,083,579 euro.
In total, for the enterprises in Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities, obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in October 2022 amounted to 822,121,600 euro, recording an increase of 28.1% in comparison with October 2021, when the respective turnover was 641,998,550 euro.
For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2021 greater than
1.0%, the biggest increase in the turnover of October 2022 compared with October 2021 was recorded in the Regional
Unit Mykonos (55.8%) and the smallest increase (0.1%) was recorded in the Regional Unit Lassithi, while a decrease (8.7%) was
recorded in the Regional Unit Achaia.
