Turnover for accommodation and F&B services enterprises in Greece jumps 28.1% in October 2022

The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) with this sectoral publication, presents the map with the evolution of the turnover of enterprises classified in the Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities divisions.

These economic activities have been over time in the focus of interest due to the significant weight they bear on the Greek economy as a whole, but also due to their extensive dispersion, with a significant presence in all regional units and a significant contribution to the respective local economies of Greece, often associated with the tourist product of the country.

For the enterprises in Accommodation Activities, obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in October 2022 amounted to 637,614,417 euro, recording an increase of 30.7% in comparison with October 2021, when the respective turnover was 487,914,972 euro.

For the enterprises in Food and Beverage Service Activities, obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in October 2022 amounted to 184,507,183 euro, recording an increase of 19.7% in comparison with October 2021, when the respective turnover was 154,083,579 euro. 

In total, for the enterprises in Accommodation and Food and Beverage Service Activities, obliged to double-entry bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in October 2022 amounted to 822,121,600 euro, recording an increase of 28.1% in comparison with October 2021, when the respective turnover was 641,998,550 euro. 

For the Regional Units with a contribution to the total turnover of the year 2021 greater than 1.0%, the biggest increase in the turnover of October 2022 compared with October 2021 was recorded in the Regional Unit Mykonos (55.8%) and the smallest increase (0.1%) was recorded in the Regional Unit Lassithi, while a decrease (8.7%) was recorded in the Regional Unit Achaia.
