The Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) announced data on the evolution of turnover of enterprises in all sectors of the
economy, incorporating the most recent data on turnover from Administrative Sources for December and 4th Quarter 2022.
Regarding the enterprises and the activities of the economy as a whole, the turnover in 2022 amounted to 461,242,602 thousand euro, recording an increase of 35.5% in comparison with 2021, when the respective turnover was 340,283,110 thousand euro.
The biggest increase in turnover per 51.8% in 2022 compared with 2021 was recorded from the enterprises of
the section Accommodation and Food Service Activities, while the smallest increase in turnover per 2.2% was recorded from the
enterprises of the section Human Health and Social Work Activities.
The enterprises and the activities of the economy as a whole, the turnover in the fourth quarter 2022 amounted to
125,212,894 thousand euro, recording an increase of 24.0% in comparison with the fourth quarter 2021, when the respective
turnover was 100,967,883 thousand euro. The biggest increase in turnover in the fourth quarter 2022 compared with the fourth
quarter 2021 was recorded from the enterprises of the section Education, per 35.1%, while the smallest increase was recorded
from the enterprises of the section Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities, per 4.0%.
For the enterprises of the economy as a whole, obliged to double-entry accounting bookkeeping, for which data are available on a monthly basis, the turnover in December 2022 amounted to 40,079,122 thousand euro, recording an increase of 30.2% in comparison with December 2021, when the respective turnover was 30,779,587 thousand euro.
The biggest increase in turnover
in December 2022 compared with December 2021 was recorded from the enterprises of the section Construction, per 33.5%,
and the smallest increase was recorded from the enterprises of the section Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and
Remediation Activities per 2.1%, while a decrease in turnover was recorded from the enterprises of the section Mining and
Quarrying, per 16.3%.
