The Special Urban Plan (EPS) will modernize the football facilities of PAOK FC.

As the Ministry of Energy and the Environment made known, this Special Urban Plan (EPS) envisages the modernization of the football facilities of PAOK FC in the area of Toumpa, in the Municipality of Thessaloniki, with the development of new, modern specifications and FIFA / UEFA requirements. At the same time, the EPS aims at the development of urban regeneration projects in the wider area of the PAOK stadium.

As stated by Mr. Nikos Tagaras, Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, "the main goal of the Special Urban Plan is - along with the modernization of the field facilities - to renovate the wider area. Thus, according to Mr. Tagaras, "both the new stadium of PAOK and the area around it, shall be a supra-local reference point and tourist attraction, with green, leisure, culture, events, and restaurants, contributing substantially in improving the image of Thessaloniki".

In particular, the EPS includes the total utilization of the area around the current stadium with green spaces and uses of culture and leisure - in order for the stadium and the surrounding area to function as a whole - with compensatory benefits throughout Thessaloniki.

As the Ministry notes, based on the EPS, identified problems of application of the existing road planning in the area immediately adjacent to the stadium are being settled and resolved, and appropriate traffic regulations and parking spaces are provided.
