The ambitious "transformation" project of Arsakeio Arcade to a Greek Food Hall is being transferred to 2022.

According to information, the pandemic and the effects on economic activity and especially on tourism seem to have played a catalytic role in postponing the start of the project. Besides, the goal of the company remains the transformation of Arsakeio Megaron into the second most visited tourist destination in Athens.

In more detail, the Book and Orpheus Arcades will regain the central role they had in the life of the capital, through the creation of a modern cultural and gastronomic shopping center, which will be synonymous with the Greek quality diet and healthy lifestyle.

The Utilization Program includes the remodeling of the galleries and the Atrium of Arsakeio, with a total area of 11,000 sq.m., while the spaces leased by the Council of State since 1984 will remain as they curently are.

It is estimated that the total investment will cost 12 million euros, while about 500 direct jobs will be created.
