The digitization of the
Municipality’s services is, since the beginning of the pandemic, one of the
main priorities of the authority, which aims to avoid overcrowding in the
services of the Municipality of Athens, but also to substantially facilitate
the citizens and professionals of the city in their daily lives.
The electronic service platform available
for citizens and professionals (https://eservices.cityofathens.gr) that was
developed, is constantly upgraded by the Development Company of Computerization
and Business Units of the Municipality of Athens, and gives the opportunity to
those interested to obtain certificates, attestations and documents, with a few
clicks from their home. Requests that used to take days or even weeks to be
processed are now being completed quickly through the online platform.
According to the data compiled from
the platform in 20 months period a total of 130,000 citizens and businesses
have registered on the platform, a fact that proves that interested parties
have embraced the initiative. During the same period, more than 128,000
applications were processed electronically for the 104 digital services.
