The organizing company revealed the finalists for 2022 with the 13-member jury selecting 46 projects from 21 countries that are advancing to the final.
France has submitted seven projects to be presented at MIPIM 2022 in Cannes, followed by Italy with six, the United Kingdom with five, Belgium and Denmark with three each and the USA, China and Spain with two projects. Greece and in particular Lamda Development is shortlisted to claim the "Best Urban Project" award for "The Ellinikon Exprerience Park" jointly with the architectural firm Doxiadis+.
It is worth noting that the jury chaired by Francois Trausch, who is the Managing Director of the Allianz Real Estate group, has examined hundreds of entries and comprised the best projects in each of the 12 categories of the competition.
According to the organizers, the committee is examining for this year -in addition to the usual criteria- to add factors such as: how the project adapts to the conditions of the pandemic, to the way of life and work, but also to the changes in the way of entertainment and consumer conditions.
The winners will be announced at the MIPIM Awards Ceremony on Thursday 17 March at the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.
