Energy costs are now weighing more than rents on Greek enterprises

If there won't be taken immediate measures, price increases will exceed 30% and inflation will soar to 7%.

"Many businesses have already been facing severe issues with the cost of energy now exceeding that of rent in many cases."

The President of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, Giannis Chatzitheodosiou, commented on Open TV.

He said that once again it is necessary to immediately take additional measures to support households and businesses and estimated that if immediate measures are not taken, price increases will exceed 30% and inflation 7%.

In this context, he reiterated the need to reduce VAT on basic necessities from 13% to 6%, increase the energy subsidy to 75% and reduce the Excise Tax on fuel.
