Flood repair works in Kineta have been initiated
Following the recent approval granted for the works from the Court of Auditors.
In January, the restoration works of the damages caused in Kineta by the intense floods of 2019 has been initiated, with the financing of the Attica Region with a total budget of about €18 million, following the recent approval granted for the works from the Court of Auditors.
In particular, the Attica Region begins the implementation of projects that include, among other things, the removal of sediments that have accumulated in many parts of the area, the holistic and thorough cleaning of streams, the restoration of damage caused to the Old National Road in order to give traffic again height of the Pika stream, the construction of retaining walls in a large area of Kineta, the construction of flood protection works, but also asphalt paving works on the Old National Road, throughout the area of Kineta.
At the same time, road rehabilitation projects that have suffered serious damage are included, based on the program contract that has been signed with the Municipality of Megara, following relevant requests submitted to the Attica Region.
