Having been postponed and extended many times recently due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organizers of the exhibition declared (with the data so far) ready to return with the same number of exhibitors from Europe and the Middle East who had taken part in its exhibition.
In fact, at MIPIM 2022 the first of the most important speakers is expected to be François Hollande, the French President from 2012-2017, who will open the 4-day conference with a keynote speech in which he will examine the great challenges and opportunities facing real estate industry and society in general.
Based on these challenges, the focus will be on climate change since President Hollande chaired the Paris Climate Agreement at COP 21 in 2015.
He is expected to discuss at the same time how real estate should meet the new challenges with a "background" to the central theme of this year's MIPIM: "leading to urban change".
The President will also address key social issues, from post-pandemic health and prosperity measures to tackling diversity, inequality and employment challenges.
Ronan Vaspart, Managing Director of MIPIM, said: registrations are growing which is extremely encouraging. I hope this message gives those who have already registered, as well as those who are still considering their options, the confidence to come to Cannes in March.
"We look forward to welcoming them all to a safe event that will continue the tradition of MIPIM, attracting the biggest names in real estate, as evidenced by what it promises to be a major intervention by President Hollande."
The 2022 report will include a number of new international cities and countries that want to present their investment opportunities.
In total, more than 90% of the European cities and regions that presented at MIPIM 2019 have already committed to have a presence in this year's report.
