According to sources familiar with the matter there have
been submitted seven proposals during the first phase of the tender conducted
by the Ministry of Development and Investment. With the completion of the
process for the Partnership Agreement, a private institution will undertake the
study, financing, construction and technical management of the Courthouses of
Edessa, Serres and Kilkis, as well as the reconstruction of the building of the
Courthouse of Thessaloniki with a total budget of €120 million.
The main goal of the project, according to the relevant
announcement is being comprised in:
1.
The refurbishment of the premises infrastructures
to improve the courts services
2.
The gathering of the services
3.
The redevelopment of the courts so as to have
the old properties being totally restored and avoid possible accidents due to
the severe technical and operational issues in the buildings
It is been reminded that the project is part of a PPP
project according to which there will be redeveloped 12 courthouses across the
country, with a total budget of over €300 million, which was approved last
March by the Interministerial PPP Committee.
