The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is bidding for the department of VOAK "Neapoli - Agios Nikolas".

This is the section of the highway with a total of 14 kilometers at a cost of € 186 million including VAT.

The project "Transformation into a motorway of the North Road Axis of Crete category: Neapoli - Agios Nikolaos in the Regional Unit of Lassithi" concerns the study and construction of the improvement works of the section "Neapoli - Ag. Nikolaos ", of VOAK, with widening of the existing road, with a total length of 14.00 km. and turning it into a freeway.

This section is the continuation to the east of the Hersonissos - Neapoli section, will be implemented by improving the cross-section and geometry of the existing N.E.O. Neapoli - Ag. Nikolaos and is part of the overall project of VOAK, which is developed at a height of about 300 km. and extends from Kissaios to Sitia.

In detail, the project concerns the improvement - widening of the existing Neapoli - Ag. Nikolaos on a 4-track artery with two lanes of traffic and LEA in each direction, of a separate traffic deck, with a total width of 22.50 m.

The object of the project to be constructed comprises the execution of all types of earthworks (with the relevant loan and storage projects), technical works (Bridges, partial or total strip works (Cut & Cover), Upper & Lower, Floors, Upper & Lower curbs, paving, etc.), slope stability works and improving the behavior of works against retreats (remediation, any required counterweights, etc.), paving, asphalt, marking (vertical and horizontal), projects, sewerage - drainage, electro-mechanical installations (street lighting, signaling, etc.), green installation, green maintenance, relocation - rehabilitation of OKO networks.
