Varko Bay Resort project wins approval by regional authorities

The Region of Western Greece has approved the strategic environmental impact study for the project.

The Committee on Environment and Natural Resources of the Region of Western Greece approved the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment (SEA) of the Special Plan for Spatial Development of Strategic Investments (ESCHASE) of"Varko Bay Resort".

According to the investment plan, there will be constructed and operate a large five star hotel unit, with a capacity of 580 beds, (according to international standards is classified in the category of 6 stars) in an area of 182 acres in Varko Pogonias area of Palero Municipality, near the popular beach Vathiavali.

The investment is been comprised in the Strategic Investment Procedures of Law 3894/2010 as of strategic importance.

The total investment is estimated to reach €107 million and will offer 350 permanent and seasonal jobs. The project is implemented by the Dutch company RND Investments Greece
