The Gross Added Value (GAV) for the entire country saw an increase of 13.9% in 2022 compared to 2021, according to the Regional Accounts data from ELSTAT.

The regions of Peloponnese, Crete, South Aegean, and the Ionian Islands saw the highest growth. In terms of regional contributions to the creation of the GDP, Attica holds the largest share at 48.1%, followed by Central Macedonia with 14%.

The regional distribution of GDP, along with population statistics (estimated mid-year population), is used to calculate the per capita regional Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The analysis indicates a national GDP increase of 13.3% between 2021 and 2022. Regionally, the greatest growth occurred in Peloponnese, Crete, South Aegean, and the Ionian Islands, while Thessaly experienced the smallest increase.
