Program agreement signed for €20 nillion renovation of Athens Student Residence.

The contract was signed by the Minister of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports, Sofia Zacharaki, the President of the Institute of Youth and Lifelong Learning, Anna Rokofylla, and the Deputy CEO of the Hellenic Public Properties Company, Panagiotis Stamoulidis.

According to a relevant announcement by the Institute, the project titled "Renovation of the Student Residence Complex in Athens (at 279-281 Patission Street)" serves as a tangible testament to the ongoing efforts over the last two years by the current leadership of the Institute of Youth and Lifelong Learning.

The announcement further emphasizes that the signing of the contract highlights the government's commitment, particularly that of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to a brighter future for public higher education and student welfare.

"It also represents a personal achievement for the President of the Institute, Anna Rokofylla, who, from the moment she assumed office, made the improvement of student living conditions in all the residences under the Institute's jurisdiction a priority," the statement further notes.

The Athens Student Residence, owned by the Institute of Youth and Lifelong Learning (INEDIVIM), is one of the oldest in Athens, having been in operation since 1964. With a capacity of 278 beds, it accommodates students from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Its renovation is part of the strategic plan to upgrade public student facilities, aiming to support vulnerable families with children studying at public universities.

The securing of funding through the Sectoral Development Program of the Ministry of Education, using national resources from the Public Investment Development Program, is the result of systematic planning and advocacy by the current leadership of INEDIVIM.
