A primary surplus of €1.6 billion was recorded in the five months of 2024

The primary surplus of the Greek government budget was recorded at €1.6 billion in the five months of January - May on a cash basis, compared to €2.9 billion in the corresponding period last year.

According to the data of the Bank of Greece, the cash result of the central administration presented a deficit of 537 million euros, compared to a deficit of €1.920 billion in the corresponding period of 2023. During this period, the revenues of the regular budget amounted to €25,272 billion from €23.117 billion last year.

As for regular budget expenditures, they amounted to 23.676 billion euros, from 24.629 billion euros in the January-May 2023 period.
