A new reception and service area for refugees and asylum seekers was created by the Hellenic Council for Refugees (HRC), with the support of PRODEA Investments.

The new space, which has a total area of 210 sqm, facilitates the meetings of the beneficiaries with lawyers and social workers, also providing the possibility of hosting events, briefings, workshops and trainings. It meets all the specifications for the safety and protection of workers and serviced persons, as well as being completely accessible to the disabled.

The project was implemented within the framework of the multi-year corporate responsibility program "Responsibility Structures" of Prodea Investments, through which the company supports vulnerable social groups by contributing to social development and well-being. The actions of the program also focus on the environment, health and sports and geographically cover all of Greece.

Recognizing the valuable work of the Hellenic Council for Refugees, PRODEA Investments offered its expertise, but also undertook the cost of the reconstruction of the space, in the building that houses the ESP in Exarchia.

The Hellenic Council for Refugees has been active since 1989 in the field of asylum and human rights in Greece and since 2001 has been an operational partner of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
