Grid Telecom, a subsidiary company and operator of telecommunications services of the Independent Electricity Transmission Operator (ADMIE) and Tamares Telecom (subsidiary of Aluma Infrastructure Fund), a leading international wholesale telecommunications service provider and operator of fiber optic networks, have routed and the business plan for the ANDROMEDA optical fiber cable system that will connect Greece with Cyprus and Israel, and will be extended to the Arabian Peninsula.

Grid Telecom and Tamares Telecom have invited other strategic partners to join the ANDROMEDA consortium, to add value and offer previous data transfer solutions, through the creation of a new telecommunications bridge between Europe and the Middle East.

The ANDROMEDA intercontinental fiber optic cable system will provide state-of-the-art connections with international reach to wholesale telecommunications customers across the European continent, the Mediterranean and the Arabian Peninsula, connecting for the first time, Athens to Haql in Saudi Arabia, via development of an alternative digital avenue.

That is, it will connect Greece with the Arabian Peninsula via Israel, creating a critical transit between Europe and the Middle East of great geostrategic value, which will extend west through judicial partners in the Balkans and other important destinations in Central and Western Europe.

Emerging as a leading wholesale telecommunications provider in the Greek market, Grid Telecom bases its rapid growth on ADMIE's extensive optical network in Greece and neighboring countries, consolidating international points of presence and fiber links that are constantly being developed.

The subsidiary of ADMIE creates a new major neutral hub of open access connectivity, in the wider Balkans-Mediterranean region, achieving maximum security, strong redundancy, network diversity and the shortest possible paths for low latency in data switching.

Tamares Telecom operates the proprietary TAMARES-NORTH submarine cable system it has installed between Israel and Cyprus, which extends to multiple international destinations, providing customized communication solutions through advanced infrastructure and cloud computing services. The strategic agreement with Grid Telecom for the new ANDROMEDA submarine cable system is in line with Tamares Telecom's strategy to strengthen its infrastructure, expand its international network and increase its entry points in Europe, providing a new interconnection gateway to Greece, in the Eastern Mediterranean.
