As announced by the American tech giant, it plans to fund projects in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, engineering, and education.
Additionally, the company intends to increase the capacity of its existing U.S. production facilities and build a new factory in Houston, Texas, by 2026 for the production of servers that were previously manufactured "outside the U.S." The press release specifies that this new site will "create thousands of jobs."
These initiatives are expected to lead to the hiring of 20,000 additional employees over the next four years, according to Apple.
The announcement follows Donald Trump's plans to impose new tariffs on a wide range of foreign and Chinese products, including semiconductors, automobiles, and pharmaceuticals.
