Attico Metro declares initiation of digging works for Metro Line 4

Assembling of the first subway train of Metro Line 4 has been inititated a few days ago.

According to Mr. Nikos Tahiao, President of Attiko Metro SA "in the well of Mesogeion Street, where the second Katehaki Station will be built in future time, that will be included in the extension of the new line to the north and at a depth of approximately 36 meters, the first of the two digging machines will be put on work".

ATTIKO METRO has announced the preparation of special studies regarding the static adequacy of the buildings along the influence zone of Line 4 Section A.

In the context of these studies, all the external sides as well as the inside of the properties will be inspected in order to record their existing condition, before the start of the underground works and to take all the necessary design and construction measures for prevention and protection.

When the procedure is completed, the owner/tenant is asked to sign the relevant form, with the right to receive a copy of the relevant technical impression. (The relevant document signed by the owner/tenant includes: the name of the owner, the date of registration, the use of the building, the apartment number, the consent for the provision and use of personal data in the context of the protection of personal data under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), the floor plan of the apartment, any cracks, any refusal or acceptance for registration, the desire to send the registration report).

The owner/tenant's engineer can also be present at the survey if he so wishes.

It is been reminded that Section 1 of Line 4 "Alsos Veikou - Goudi", which is planned to be implemented with this tender, has been designed with the aim of serving many densely populated areas of Lekanopedi, the center of Athens with the construction of four new stations (Exarchia , Academy, Kolonaki, Evangelismos).

Its outline extends from the area of Alsous Veikos in Galatsi to Goudi and the TBM Katehaki Well and falls under the administrative boundaries of the Municipalities of Athens, Galatsi, Kaisariani and Zografou. It is approximately 12.8 km long and includes 15 new underground stations: Alsos Veikou, Galatsi, Elikonos, Kypseli, Dikastiria, Alexandras, Exarchia, Akadimia, Kolonaki, Evangelismos, Kaisariani, University, Ilisia, Zografou and Goudi.
