Building materials prices keep rising according to ELSTAT

The bricks prices have increased by 30%

The general price index of building materials for new residential buildings has increased 11.7% in December 2022, compared to the corresponding index of December 2021, according to the latest data released by ELSTAT.

The general index recorded an increase of 0.5% in December 2022, compared to the index in November 2022, versus an increase of 0.4%, that was observed the same period a year ago.

In average the index recorded an 11% increase, compared to the corresponding index for the twelve months January 2021 – December 2021, relative to a 3.8% increase that was observed the same period a year ago.

The biggest price increase was recorded in Bricks (28.2%), followed by Motor Oil – Diesel (19.8%), Parquet (17.1%), Reinforcing Iron (16.2%), Garage Doors ( 14.5%), Building Timber (13.6%), Copper Pipes (13%), Plastic, Water Acrylic (12%), Wooden Wardrobes (11.5%), Ready-Mixed Concrete (11 .2%), Heaters (10.9%), Tiles (floor - wall) (10.9%), Marble Slabs (10.3%), Built-in Cabinets (9.9%), Frames aluminum (9.2%), wooden windows (9%), interior doors (8.8%), cement (8.6%), copper pipes (6%) and elevators (6%).

On the other hand, prices in Electricity decreased by 8.9%.
