The three biding schemes have the right to submit a Pre-Trial Appeal within an exclusive period of ten days from its notification which will be communicated through the Virtual Data Space (VDS).

The Ministry of Transport has approved the minutes (15-09-2023) of the examination of the Files and accepted the Participation Certificates of the Bidders participating in the 2nd Phase of the International Tender - for the award of the Concession Agreement concerning "Study, Construction, Financing , Operation, Maintenance and Exploitation of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (B.O.A.K.) in the Chania-Heraklion section"

In this phase, the following participate:

  • "IDOMENEAS ASSOCIATION" "AVAX-EGIS-MERIDIAM ASSOCIATION OF PERSONS"
  • "GEK TERNA S.A." "GEK TERNA Joint Stock Company, Real Estate, Constructions"
  • "UNION OF ACTOR CONCESSIONS S.A.-MYTILINEOS S.A."

Against the decision, the three schemes have the right to submit a Pre-Trial Appeal within an exclusive period of ten days from its notification which will be communicated through the Virtual Data Space (VDS).

The Chania - Heraklion section, 157.5 km long and with a budget of €1.5 billion is the largest of the three sections of the Northern Road Axis of Crete (VOAK) which will be constructed through concession contract. In the context of this project, the ministry has comprised and is maturing the section Kissamos - Chania (37.5 km) as an option.

The BOAK also includes the Hersonissos-Neapolis section with a budget of €360 million which is implemented through PPP by the consortium GEK TERNA, AKTOR and Intrakat and the Neapolis-Agios Nikolaos section with a budget of €169 million which is being built as a public project by AKTOR.
