The inclusion of four municipalities from the Trikala Regional Unit has expanded the scope of the Land Registry, now encompassing a total of 249,325 properties and 324,558 associated rights. The municipalities included in this expansion are the Municipality of Meteora (formerly Kalambaka), the Municipality of Pyli, the Municipality of Trikaia, which is subdivided into several municipal units, including Estiaiotida (comprising the local communities of Longos, Megalochori, and Chrysavgi), Kallidendros, Koziakas, Paleokastro, Paralithea, and Faloria, as well as the Municipality of Farkadonos, which includes the municipal units of Oichalia, Pelinnae (comprising the local communities of Nome, Petroporos, Taxiarches [Kritsini], and Faneromeni), and Farkadonos.
The Hellenic Land Registry has now implemented a fully digital system for the submission of various types of applications. Specifically, the registration of notarial deeds—except for those related to distribution, exchange, modifications involving horizontal or vertical properties containing more than one KAEK, and the establishment of condominiums via sale—must now be submitted electronically by notaries, natural persons, and legal entities. Similarly, acts related to the removal of real security interests and the registration of pre-notations, as well as acts involving bailiffs requiring a legal preliminary service procedure, must be digitally submitted.
In addition, applications for extrajudicial corrections, such as those seeking the rectification of manifest errors, as well as those under Article 6, Paragraph 4 of Law 2664/1998, must be filed digitally by lawyers, notaries, court bailiffs, and both natural and legal persons.
Furthermore, professionals are required to perform all searches within the cadastral database through digital means. Applications for the issuance of certificates or copies, such as cadastral sheets, can now only be submitted and received digitally, and this service is available around the clock.
The operation of the Land Registry has transitioned to a fully electronic protocol system. As part of this modernization, the requirement for stamps on certificates and applications has been eliminated. Payments can now be processed either electronically or via POS systems, and refunds for any undue payments will be made electronically.
For on-site consultations, the Branch’s records can be accessed from 08:30 to 13:30 nationwide, ensuring uniform and extended availability across the country.
The overarching goal of the Hellenic Land Registry is to modernize the services provided by Land Registry Offices and Branches, facilitating a digital transformation that will improve efficiency and the quality of service offered to citizens and real estate professionals alike.
